The unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Russian (Zhuji) International Laboratory and the Sino-Russian International Forum on New Materials Innovation and Application were solemnly held on December 12.

With strong support from the Zhuji Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, as well as active assistance from numerous scientists both at home and abroad, and with research support provided by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Novosibirsk State University in Russia, the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Russian (Zhuji) International Laboratory and the International Forum on Innovation and Application of New Materials between China and Russia were solemnly held on December 12 after intensive and well-organized preparations. Zhang Kunlun, Deputy Secretary of the Zhuji Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Shan Zhiwei, Assistant President of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, attended the unveiling ceremony and delivered speeches. Rong Mingzhe, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an Jiaotong University, also sent a video message to the laboratory online.
Wang Cheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Zhuji Municipal Party Committee and Head of the Organization Department; Chen Wenjin, Vice Mayor of Zhuji City; Liang Deliang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University; Geng Yingsan, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment; Li Chengfu, Director of the Institute of Science and Technology and Education; heads of relevant departments in Zhuji City; as well as leaders and experts from the former General Staff Department’s Informationization Division, AVIC, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China Railway Research Institute, Urumqi JunDong Industrial Park, Xi'an Jiaotong University Suzhou Research Institute, Zhejiang Research Institute, and Zhejiang QiuShi Emergency Technology Research Institute also attended this event.
Dr. Lei Li, Director of the Sino-Russian (Zhuji) International Laboratory, briefed the guests on the laboratory’s basic construction status and accompanied them on a tour of the facility.




From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the International Forum on New Materials Innovation and Application between China and Russia brought together experts and scholars from home and abroad to discuss new theories, technologies, methods, and applications in materials science. Through various formats—including presentations, discussions, lectures, exhibitions, and networking—participants focused on sharing innovative research findings at the intersection of electrical engineering and materials science, as well as laboratory research progress. The forum has attracted significant attention from both academic and business communities.

Professor Dan Zhiwei delivered a special report at this international forum on “The Influence of Flow and Magnetic Fields on the Mechanical Properties of Copper Used in Electrical Engineering.”

At the forum, Professor Liang Deliang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Lei Li, Director of the China-Russia (Zhuji) International Laboratory, unveiled the “Full-time Professional Degree Postgraduate Collaborative Cultivation and Education Base” established by Xi'an Jiaotong University at the laboratory.

The China-Russia (Zhuji) International Laboratory focuses on addressing China’s “bottleneck” issues in the field of materials science by conducting research into key common technologies—both fundamental theoretical studies and multidisciplinary, cross-disciplinary applications—in areas such as material surface treatment and intrinsic material enhancement. By leveraging materials innovation to drive industrial revolutions, the laboratory provides technological support for the upgrading and development of industries including power energy, transportation, and biomedicine.
