To deeply study, publicize, and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, on November 21, the Xibili Party Branch held a thematic Party Day activity focused on studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress. The branch secretary, Lei Li, presided over the activity and delivered a speech. All party members and cadres attended the event.

At the meeting, Lei Li, Secretary of the Xibili Party Branch, conveyed to all party members and cadres the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, emphasizing the importance of studying, publicizing, and implementing its guiding principles. He led all party members in a focused study and interpretation of the section in the report titled “Revitalizing the Country through Science and Education and Building a Nation Strong in Talent.” Over the past decade, China has taken firm steps toward accelerating scientific and technological innovation and achieving self-reliance and strength in science and technology. A strong education system leads to a strong science and technology sector. Regarding scientific and technological innovation, the report of the 20th National Congress proposed “four accelerations”: accelerating the building of a science and technology powerhouse; speeding up the implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy; accelerating the realization of high-level self-reliance and strength in science and technology; and expediting the implementation of a number of major national science and technology projects that are strategic, holistic, and forward-looking, thereby enhancing our capacity for independent innovation. The report stressed the need to uphold the principle that science and technology are the primary productive force, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. We must deeply implement the strategies of revitalizing the country through science and education, building a nation strong in talent, and driving development through innovation, opening up new frontiers and new pathways for development, and continuously fostering new drivers and new advantages for growth.

Liu Mei: The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China calls for achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength, and for building a science and technology powerhouse. The realization of this goal hinges on talent. Our company has always attached great importance to both science and technology and talent—our number of patent applications and the number of highly educated professionals serve as the best proof of this commitment. In our daily work, the company also places great emphasis on employee training and education. Under the leadership of General Manager Lei, our employees have introduced advanced foreign technologies and internalized them through innovation, dedicating themselves to overcoming technical challenges in the diverse applications of micro-arc oxidation technology. When we finally realize our company’s vision, we’ll be able to proudly say that we’ve contributed our part to the nation’s strategy of building a science and technology powerhouse.
Zha Shenyu: The outlook and profound implications of innovation put forth at the 20th National Congress of the Party have been immensely beneficial to us. Under the new national system for scientific and technological innovation, we can foresee that China’s innovative activities will continue to unfold across the entire society. Every small innovation made by individuals in different positions, of varying nature and from diverse directions will collectively serve as a vibrant source of energy for further enhancing social productivity and moving toward a prosperous and affluent life. Meanwhile, guided by the Party’s visionary leadership, scientific researchers will remain firmly committed to aligning their work with national strategic priorities, striving to achieve cutting-edge innovation goals in areas such as strategic planning, breakthroughs, development that benefit people’s livelihoods, promotion of the nation’s strength, and safeguarding major national security interests. Zhang Xinwen: The three major development strategies represent a boon, an opportunity—and also a challenge—for us researchers. The nation’s growing emphasis on scientific research means that the research environment will continue to improve and institutional frameworks will become increasingly refined. Therefore, we must seize this opportunity, dedicating even more energy and enthusiasm to contributing our part to technological advancement. On the other hand, in this era of rapidly evolving information, not all technological innovations are leaps from scratch; often, they build upon the incremental progress made by those who came before us—quantitative changes that eventually lead to qualitative breakthroughs. Thus, how we can achieve technological breakthroughs through steady, incremental accumulation is a question we’ll need to ponder for a long time to come. At present, for us researchers, the path toward innovative development is fraught with obstacles and requires great perseverance. We must be able to endure loneliness, withstand hardship, and endure arduous effort. We need to calm our minds, focus on key issues, make full use of our existing resources, pool our collective wisdom and strength, and steadily accumulate small steps to ultimately reach great distances, thereby driving forward the development of scientific and technological innovation.
