Looking back with diligent exploration and moving forward with firm determination—the 2021 R&D Technology Workshop of the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory was successfully held.

On November 13-14, 2021, the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory held a research and development technology workshop titled “Looking Back, Looking Forward” in the laboratory conference room of Kunshan International Innovation Port. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Zheng Huating, Chairman of Siberian Electric Motor Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., and attended by Dr. Lei Li, Executive Director of the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory. A total of 27 participants—including core R&D personnel, engineering and technical staff, management personnel, and key business professionals—from Siberian Company took part in the meeting.
The meeting summarized the achievements, challenges, difficulties, and obstacles encountered by Sibiri Company since its establishment, particularly over the past year. Each project leader presented a summary and highlighted key issues from their respective technology R&D perspectives, along with proposed solutions. Regarding the enhancement of collaborative efficiency between China and Russia, the meeting conducted an in-depth review of pressing issues—including the research and feasibility studies for R&D project initiation, the formulation and implementation of project plans, and the resolution of technical process challenges from laboratory-scale development to mass production. Participants engaged in thorough discussions, analyses, and summaries of the common technical and management issues raised during the meeting, directly addressing the root causes of these challenges. Over the two-day meeting, the core technologies and application directions of the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory were progressively clarified and confirmed; clear guidelines were provided for expanding the market for these technologies; and specific requirements were set forth regarding organizational changes within the company, technical specifications and standards, management of individual projects, as well as the enhancement of responsibilities and capabilities of project leaders. Through this meeting, the team from the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory and Sibiri Company will adopt an attitude of “not shying away from problems, not evading contradictions, and not putting off disputes.” They will dare to speak up, take action, be serious about issues, and boldly challenge the status quo—breaking free from the current situation where neither others nor themselves are dared to be questioned or affirmed, where neither others nor themselves are willing to take responsibility or admit mistakes. By leveraging the experience of senior members to guide newcomers and inspiring veterans with fresh ideas, the team will work together in solidarity and strive for mutual progress.
Over the past two years, we at Sibiri Company have been relentlessly pursuing and exploring the technology of ceramic coating on the surfaces of lightweight metal materials and their applications. In the fields of new material technologies for power equipment, new material technologies for medical implants, and surface strengthening technologies for engine friction pairs, we have developed uniquely innovative technical approaches and achieved significant results. We have filed over 40 patent applications and have been recognized as Jiangsu Province’s Dual Innovation Talent and Gusu Leading Talent. Additionally, we have been approved for key country-specific projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, listed in the database for cultivating high-tech enterprises, designated as a science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprise, and certified as a private science and technology enterprise in Jiangsu Province.
In the future, the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory will uphold a spirit of truth-seeking and pragmatism in its R&D endeavors, continuously exploring new paths in the development of new materials, new structures, new products, and new processes. By driving technological advancement through fundamental innovations, we will strive to break through critical technological bottlenecks that have long constrained our progress. We will open our platform to all willing collaborators, working together with more experts and scholars, higher education institutions, and partner enterprises to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
