On the afternoon of October 26, the signing ceremony for the Shanghai-Suzhou Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement on Science and Technology—titled “Openness, Integration, and Collaborative Win-Win”—and the award ceremony for the 2021 Shanghai-Suzhou In-City International Innovation Challenge were held in Suzhou. Wang Yu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee for Science and Technology of Shanghai, and Wu Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, attended the event and delivered speeches. Sibiri Motor Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was awarded the “Best Open Innovation Enterprise Award.” Universities, enterprises, technology brokers, and outstanding science and technology professionals from both Shanghai and Suzhou participated in the conference.

The 2021 Suzhou-Shanghai Urban Co-located International Innovation Challenge was launched in June of this year. After going through stages including public call for applications, personalized matching of technical needs, one-on-one “challenge posting” matchmaking, and a special competition for innovative enterprises, the solution in the field of new materials—jointly developed by Shanghai University of Technology and Sibiri Motor Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.—emerged victorious among nearly 400 university-enterprise collaboration projects and was awarded the title of Best Solution. Sibiri Motor Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was also honored as the “Best Open Innovation Enterprise.”

The Shanghai-Suzhou Co-organized International Innovation Challenge, jointly organized by Shanghai and Suzhou, aims to further deepen cooperation between the two cities in the field of industrial and technological innovation, effectively address technical challenges faced by companies in Shanghai and Suzhou, promote innovative development of enterprises and high-quality industrial growth, and provide strong scientific and technological support for the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
