The Xi'an Jiaotong University Shanghai Alumni Association Visits the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory

On October 23, 2021, more than 30 alumni—including Bao Xiaodong, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Alumni Association of Xi'an Jiaotong University; Zhang Yutian, Deputy Secretary-General; Wang Ying, Vice President of the Electrical Engineering Branch; and Wu Xisheng, Partner at Shanghai Chengjiang Management Consulting Co., Ltd.—visited the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory. They were welcomed by Dr. Lei Li, Executive Director of the laboratory; Zheng Huating, Chairman of Sibiri Company; and members of the laboratory’s R&D team.

They were welcomed by Dr. Lei Li, Executive Director of the laboratory; Zheng Huating, Chairman of Sibiri Company; and members of the laboratory’s R&D team.

 

The alumni association group visited the exhibition hall on the first floor of the laboratory.

 

Dr. Lei Li warmly welcomed the alumni to the event and provided them with an overview of the Chinese-Russian Joint Laboratory’s development journey, its strategic goals, as well as the key technologies and future applications of its R&D products. During the exchange session, Dr. Lei Li discussed the laboratory’s future development directions and how it plans to leverage its core technologies to create competitive products. The laboratory’s R&D team then introduced attendees to advanced functional ceramic materials and their applications, highlighting the technological innovations in ceramic materials from various perspectives. Following that, the team presented a newly designed motor product—developed entirely by the laboratory’s experts—and showcased its applications and competitive advantages.

Secretary-General Bai Xiaodong of the Alumni Association shared with everyone recent development trends at Xi'an Jiaotong University, including its talent-development strategies and employment prospects. He also suggested that innovative enterprises should integrate the talent advantages of universities with core technologies. Furthermore, he put forward ideas and recommendations for deepening collaboration between Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory as well as the Siberian Company, in terms of their development and construction.

This visit and exchange represented a collision of ideas, a fusion of technologies, and a coming together of emotions. Alumni expressed that they had gained immensely from this visit and exchange, and enthusiastically invited the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory team to return for a follow-up visit!
