Amidst dazzling lights and joyful laughter, the 2025 annual gala of the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory—“Honing Transformation, Gathering Momentum for Takeoff”—was grandly held on January 18 at the Zhuji Grand Hotel. This annual celebration brought together all employees, partners, and guests from various sectors of society, marking yet another brilliant milestone in the laboratory’s journey of development.
The event kicked off with a speech by Dr. Lei Li, the Executive Director of the laboratory. In a passionate and inspiring address, Dr. Lei reviewed the laboratory’s remarkable achievements in the past and outlined a vision for its future development, igniting and boosting all employees’ boundless anticipation for the coming year.
Program performance segment
The opening dance, “Love Like Fire,” meticulously choreographed by the Engineering Department, instantly ignited the enthusiasm of the audience. Dressed in vividly colored sack-like costumes, the dancers moved gracefully to an energetic and joyful rhythm. Every single movement was imbued with strength and passion, propelling the atmosphere at the venue to its first exhilarating climax. Immediately afterward, colleagues from the International Department joined forces with their Russian counterparts and their families to perform a heartfelt and melodious chorus of “Katyusha.” The touching melody lingered long in the auditorium, not only showcasing the fusion and harmony of multiple cultures but also highlighting the company’s international flair and boundless charm.
Following that, the solo flute performance of “Eyes On Me,” with its distinctive tone and heartfelt rendition, earned enthusiastic applause from the audience. Professor Wang Weidong, chief scientist of the laboratory, then delivered a deeply moving solo vocal performance of “In Pursuit,” his voice brimming with emotion, vividly conveying his unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of scientific dreams—a performance that was truly touching.
The chorus of “Sing to the Motherland,” performed by the team of doctoral researchers, took the atmosphere of the annual meeting to yet another high point. With their powerful voices, all the lab’s doctoral researchers expressed their deep love and best wishes for the motherland, showcasing the sense of responsibility and commitment inherent in scientific researchers. Following that, the three-line comedic skit titled “The Lab’s Splendor Shines at the Annual Meeting” humorously and playfully depicted the daily work and life of the lab’s staff, leaving the audience in stitches with laughter.
The Russian circle dance performance added an exotic touch to the annual meeting. Russian employee Zakhar and his wife, dressed in traditional Russian attire, showcased the charm of Russian culture through their graceful movements. The harmonica rendition of “Gentle Confessions” touched the hearts of everyone present with its deeply moving melody. The chorus “Chasing Dreams Without Hesitation” once again underscored the company’s core spirit of “continuous pursuit and relentless advancement.” The solo song “Unnamed Path” conveyed, through its melodious vocals, the employees’ quiet dedication and perseverance in their ordinary yet vital roles. The dance “Romantic Cherry Blossoms” brought the annual meeting to a perfect close; clad in pink costumes, the dancers captured the delicate beauty and romantic allure of cherry blossoms with their light and graceful steps.
Recognition Session
To recognize laboratory teams that have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the field of scientific research, the annual conference specially included a segment honoring advanced laboratories. Representatives from the winning teams delivered acceptance speeches, sharing their research experiences and insights, thus setting an inspiring example for the employees present.
Meanwhile, the gala featured various awards, and the winning employees wore happy smiles on their faces.
