2024 Year 10 Moon 17 In the afternoon, Mr. Tu Jibing, Chairman of Dingmei New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., visited the Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory and had an in-depth exchange with Dr. Lei Li, the laboratory’s Executive Director, on fundamental research, process development, and technological applications in the field of new materials.
The Sino-Russian Joint Laboratory possesses advanced technology for in-situ growth of inorganic ceramic membranes (TECO) on light metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and titanium. These membranes find wide applications in scenarios including interfacial friction reduction and wear resistance, corrosion protection, electrical insulation, and biomedical devices. The two sides exhibit high compatibility and broad potential for collaboration in the development of processes for aluminum, magnesium, and titanium light alloys as well as in product applications. We look forward to further deepening our cooperation.
Mr. Tu graduated from National Taiwan University in his early years and founded Taiwan Juyi Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. in 1972. Juyi Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. is a technologically advanced company integrating parts design, complete vehicle design, manufacturing, and international marketing. It is the world’s largest vertically integrated group enterprise in the bicycle industry. Deeply concerned about his motherland and committed to serving the country through practical endeavors, Mr. Tu took the lead in investing and establishing a facility in Kunshan in 1992. Giant (China) Co., Ltd.; founded Dingmei New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in 2013; 2019 Year of establishment Giant Lightweight Alloy Technology (Haian) Co., Ltd. Mr. Tu leveraged his connections in Taiwan to recommend and facilitate the introduction of a large number of Taiwanese businesspeople to invest and start businesses in Kunshan.
Mr. Tu is over 80 years old yet continues his tireless pursuit of the research and application of new technologies, setting an admirable example for the young researchers in the laboratory.
