Professor Sokolov and his team of laboratory experts traveled to the Shanghai Automotive Group for a technical exchange.
Recently, a delegation including Professor Sokolov Igor, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Surface Strengthening of Laboratory Interface Materials, Wu Lili, Director of Marketing and Sales, and young doctoral researcher Cha Shenyu, paid a joint visit to the Shanghai Automotive Group to engage in technical exchanges.
Professor Sokolov’s team introduced the outstanding performance of Russia’s new mineral coatings in areas such as friction reduction, wear resistance, and corrosion protection. They also presented, through case studies, the practical applications of mineral coating technology in industries including railway transportation, energy technology, mine exploitation, mechanical manufacturing, and metallurgy.
The two sides conducted a discussion on the selection of coating applications for a particular friction pair component in engines. Professor Sokolov introduced that the process of applying mineral coatings is highly environmentally friendly—this technology produces no harmful emissions into the environment, uses naturally sourced raw materials, and features low energy consumption during the manufacturing process. The two sides plan to carry out testing of the coating and look forward to seeing this coating technology successfully implemented in engine applications.
Subsequently, Professor Sokolov’s team conducted an internal seminar with the Chinese team at the Zhuji laboratory on the performance and applications of mineral coatings. They also visited local enterprises in Zhuji together and engaged in in-depth discussions with these companies, laying the foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.
This visit marks a new starting point for in-depth exchanges between the laboratory and the market. Moving forward, the laboratory will continue to deepen its market collaborations, driving development through innovation and providing more partners with efficient, reliable innovative products and technical services.
