China-Russia (Xinjiang) International Laboratory
The China-Russia (Xinjiang) International Laboratory is a new materials research platform jointly established by Xi'an Jiaotong University and the National Key Laboratory of Electrical Materials and Electrical Insulation at Xi'an Jiaotong University, in collaboration with Xinjiang Normal University, Xinjiang Institute of Engineering, Tianshan Innovation Institute of Industrial Technology, CRRC Yongji, and other universities, research institutes, and well-known enterprises. It was officially put into operation in September 2024.
Addressing the challenges faced by China in the field of materials science, the China-Russia (Xinjiang) International Laboratory is conducting research on key common technologies—both in fundamental theory and multidisciplinary cross-application—in the areas of material surface treatment and bulk material enhancement. This research will provide technological support for industrial upgrading and development in sectors such as power energy, transportation, and biomedicine. It will also offer talent and technological backing for the innovative development of Xinjiang’s strategic emerging industries, thereby promoting green, low-carbon, and sustainable development in Xinjiang and countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative.
